Sustainable coffee

Some choices in the production and marketing of our coffee are proof of our willingness to pursue the path of environmental and social sustainability of the area in which we operate. First of all, the decision to decommission the old roasting plant and invest in a new plant to reduce energy consumption and emissions into the atmosphere.

Added to this is the production of a wide range of certified compostable pods both for coffee and for the paper that wraps them. Not to mention that, for the creation of our special organic blend, we have chosen to buy Fairtrade certified raw coffee, thus supporting small coffee producers in Central America and India. Through the Fairtrade standards we ensure that farmers are guaranteed a stable minimum price and a premium to be allocated to social projects, such as schools and clinics, or to production improvement.

For us, being sustainable also means choosing mainly local companies for the supply of packaging for our products, all compatible with separate waste collection, and offering our customers eco-sustainable take-away solutions, such as wooden scoops, paper cups from 100% from recycled material, and cardboard baskets.

Furthermore, for many years, Bonito has been committed to the community of reference, participating in many initiatives that produce value for the territory or for the people.

We are aware that we are only at the beginning of our journey to contribute to the construction of a sustainable world, but we are working with full conviction and great commitment so that our artisan coffee can soon boast a fully sustainable supply chain, from the bean to the final product.
